How to apply :

To apply for a doctorate, candidates must hold :
- a national master's degree, following a course of study that establishes the candidate's aptitude for research
- or another diploma conferring the grade of Master, following a course of training or professional experience establishing an aptitude for research
- or, by way of derogation, a diploma of equivalent level or benefiting from the validation of acquired experience..
To register for a thesis, candidates must choose the institution where they will carry out their doctorate and their thesis supervisor:

Application conditions are identical from one school to another.
The candidate must provide:
- A scientific project of at least 5 pages (excluding bibliography) on a theme consistent with the scientific positioning of the ED, i.e. management sciences or management informatics. The project must clearly present a research problem and underline its theoretical and managerial interest. It must precisely define the main research concepts and draw on academic work already written on the subject.
- A curriculum vitae outlining the student's academic background and familiarity with management science or business informatics.
- Transcripts of grades since the baccalauréat. Any student whose dissertation grade is below 12 will not be admitted to the program.
- A letter of support from a research supervisor who undertakes to follow the candidate's thesis if the latter's application is approved.
- An opinion from the director of the host laboratory to which the candidate will belong if his/her application is accepted.

Candidates who have found a thesis supervisor must :
- Apply online via the e-Candidat website
- Complete the online application form in full
- Print the application form
- Have the application signed by the thesis supervisor and the teacher-researcher in charge of the host laboratory.
- Submit the paper application to the Thesis Department
- Paper application deadline: Friday, October 27, 2023 (EMS & CRI Laboratory)
Contents of application :
- Letter of recommendation from research supervisor
- Passport photo
- Curriculum vitae
- Photocopy of most recent diploma, with corresponding transcript
- For former Paris1 students, copy of student card or certificate of attendance
- Letter of motivation
- Thesis proposal of around 5 typewritten pages, presenting the future thesis topic, problem, methodology and recent bibliography.
- An e-candidate file, to be completed online and printed out

This complete file is to be sent electronically and only electronically to edmps@univ-paris1.frFinalization of the administrative registration can begin once the Doctoral School commission has given its approval for registration.
Re-registration (2nd to 6th year) :
In accordance with article 14 of the decree of May 25, 2016, the doctorate is generally prepared over 3 years for candidates who have funding enabling them to benefit from full-time research. In other cases, doctoral studies may take up to 6 years. In this case, a request for exemption must be made at the beginning of each academic year.
Procedures :
1) For progression to 2nd and 3rd year of thesis:
- Individual Monitoring Committee (IMC) report drawn up by members of the student's monitoring committee
- Thesis progress report drawn up by the thesis director
All documents must be sent in a single PDF file by email to l edmps@univ-paris1.fr for validation by the ED council.
2) For progression to 4th, 5th and 6th year of thesis:
- Individual Monitoring Committee (IMC) report drawn up by members of the student's monitoring committee
- Thesis progress report drawn up by the thesis director
- Thesis progress report written by the student, with percentages of what has been done and what remains to be done.
- Letter of support from thesis supervisor justifying request to move up a year
The ED Board must approve any move to the 4th, 5th or 6th year. All documents must be sent in a single PDF file by email to par email edmps@univ-paris1.fr no later than two days before the next board meetings on 26/10/2023 or 23/11/2023.
Payment deadline for 1st registration and re-registration : Thursday, November 30, 2023
IMPORTANT: In accordance with Article 14 of the decree of May 25, 2016, doctoral research is generally completed in 3 years of full-time equivalent dedicated to research. In other cases, the duration of doctoral research may be up to 6 years at most. The duration of doctoral training for a doctoral candidate with a disability can be extended by the institution's head on a motivated request from the doctoral candidate. If the doctoral candidate has taken maternity leave, paternity leave, child adoption leave, parental leave, sick leave lasting more than 4 consecutive months, or leave of at least 2 months following a work-related accident, the duration of doctoral research is extended if requested by the individual.
