Doctoral student careers (2017-2022)
Each year, surveys are carried out to ascertain the nature, quality and rates of professional activity after graduation. Over the period 2017-2022, almost 55% of PhD graduates from our Doctoral School have chosen teaching (private and public sectors combined), and 36% currently hold a position in the private sector.
Over the 2017-2022 period, EDMPS PhDs have obtained positions in no fewer than 27 countries.
The latest survey shows an insertion rate of 91% over this period.
Doctors / PhD students meeting

The meeting between doctors and doctoral students January 2020
Dear Colleagues, Dear Doctoral Students,
The meeting between PhDs and doctoral students from the École Doctorale de Management Panthéon Sorbonne (EDMPS) took place on January 6 at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Despite the strike that day, it attracted 30 participants. In a convivial atmosphere, participants were able to question PhDs from our doctoral school about their professional insertion, their projects and, more generally, the role of a doctorate in finding a job in both the public and private sectors.
3 doctors were present to share their experiences with us:
- Mr Nor Bouchetara (former EMS doctoral student, 2017), who is Professor and Pedagogical Coordinator at EBBS Business School in Bordeaux.
- Ms. Marion Sanglé-Ferrière (ex-doctoral fellow at ESCP, 2019), who is an ATER at the University of Cergy-Pontoise
- Ms Valérie Zeitoun (ex-doctor at IAE de Paris, 2016), who is Maître de Conférences at IAE de Paris and President of The Laundry (a company specializing in qualitative research and brand strategies).
In view of the interest shown by our doctoral students in this event, we have decided to hold another meeting with other PhD students in the very near future.
Yours sincerely
